Happy Halloween!

I made these cupcakes for my nieces and nephews for the Halloween. They were banana cake flavor with vanilla (orange) and chocolate (black) frosting as the spider webs. They all loved it. We went to trick or treat in their neighborhood and the weather was beautiful around 50'F (10'C) and clear sky. They got so many candies that they almost could not carry all the goodies home. It was just a fun Halloween this year.

No! What Is That?

I cannot believe my eyes! It is only October, not even Halloween yet. I don't like those cold white ice from the sky! Way too early for that.

Beautiful Autumn Colors

The autumn color is in its peak now. All the trees change to different layer of yellow, gold, orange, and red. We are very lucky so far that the weather is still sunny and warm around 60'F (15'C) during the daytime. Nothing is better than having a nice walk under the comfortable autumn sun in the woods. Now I just wish that I could get out of the work earlier. :)

Back From DC

Came back from DC late last night. The trip was great and I really needed it. It has been almost 12 years since my last time there as a summer intern for several months. One of my friends there showed me around and things changed so much that I barely could recognize most of the places. None of the bars or restaurants we used to hang out with after the work exist there anymore. And the neighborhood surely changes a lot.

My friend and I used to walk from UDC to Dupont Circle to catch the Metro. It is nothing like what I used to remember. There are so many new condos and constructions going on that the whole area is just different. Lots of young people, even young family with kids and strollers, walk around the park, which you would never see back then. Even the National airport (before it was named as Regan airport) has expanded so much that I could not find the right terminal anymore. Guess I am getting old! LOL.

The leaves really start to change colors and head to the peak. It is just so beautiful to see all kinds of colors on different trees. And some of my co-workers start to bring in the extra apples from the apples in their yards. I guess it is time to make some apple pies!

Trip To DC On The Weekend

The nice maple tree in the front of my place has turned into gold and orange. And the weather is just great and around 70'F. I will travel to DC tomorrow and come back on Sunday. Just a short trip to visit a friend. Really need to get out of town and get away from the work for a while. Happy Friday!

Stressed

All the mums in garden are in full bloom now since it has become very cool. The temperature is only about 55'F (12'C) in Wisconsin now. I have been back from Taiwan for almost one and a half week. However, I have been worked almost 14 hours per day since I came back. Really stressed. By the way, thanks for the nice comments about my mom's health condition. She is doing very well now. The doctor was able to remove the infection area and said that my mom should recover fully. She just has to go back to hospital every 2 months to get checked to make sure no more possible cancer cells are there. I will try to find some time to post some pictures taken back home.
