Hamburger Cupcakes

Another cake post! Guess even the dogs on the plate like them! It was the birthday party of my twin 7-year-old nieces on this past Saturday. There were about 10 kids in the party so I decided to make these fun looking hamburger cupcakes. The buns were vanilla cake and the meat patty was dark chocolate cake. Of course, the ketchup, mustard and lettuce were red, yellow and green creamy vanilla frosting.

I also sprinkled sesame seeds on the top to make them look even more like the real hamburger. And it surely was a big hit in the party. Of course, there were some kids immediately scraping off the sesame seeds off the top. Guess not everybody like the sesame seeds. I got some big hugs from the kids to thank me for making the cupcakes for their party. It was a happy Saturday!

I love it! I've heard a new thing to take to dinner parties is now cupcakes for dessert - which I'm fine with because I never felt I had a taste for picking out the bottle of wine. I recently saw a tv show where they made hot cocoa teacup cupcakes that were cute too, but as I don't go to many birthday parties for 6 year old girls - I think I'll try yours instead.

They're amazing looking. Maybe you should have put powdered sugar on top to make it look like they were snowflake rolls. :-)
